Some files, folders and registry data will not be uninstalled when you are trying to remove µTorrent from your computer.

Many times the following registry data will not be uninstalled:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\uTorrent

Open regedit.exe in order to remove the following values:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe.ApplicationCompany
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe.FriendlyAppName

How to remove µTorrent using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

µTorrent is a program marketed by the software company BitTorrent Limited. Frequently, people decide to remove it. Sometimes this can be difficult because deleting this by hand takes some skill regarding Windows program uninstallation. The best SIMPLE way to remove µTorrent is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your system, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very potent uninstaller and general tool to optimize your PC.

• download the setup by clicking on the DOWNLOAD button
• install Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with the program's interface and number of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful system utility.

3. Click on the General Tools button


4. Press the Uninstall Programs feature


5. All the programs installed on your computer will be made available to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you find µTorrent or simply click the Search feature and type in "µTorrent". If it is installed on your PC the µTorrent program will be found very quickly. Notice that after you select µTorrent in the list of apps, some data regarding the application is made available to you:

• Safety rating (in the lower left corner). This explains the opinion other users have regarding µTorrent, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Technical information regarding the application you want to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for µTorrent:

• The publisher is: http://www.utorrent.com
• The uninstall string is: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will come up. accept the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall µTorrent.


8. After removing µTorrent, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run a cleanup. Click Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong µTorrent which have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing µTorrent using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your PC.
