How to uninstall AVG from your PC

AVG is a software application. AVG has the habit of leaving behind some leftovers.

Usually the following registry keys will not be uninstalled:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{A0869B2C-C907-4DCA-A72B-6D54C1E1B1A2}
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AVG

Open regedit.exe in order to delete the following registry values:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.avgdi\shell\AvgDxOpenVerb\command\
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.avgdx\shell\AvgDxOpenVerb\command\
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{86E8C5B0-75B6-4ff2-B04F-6789CC7AE386}\Path\x86
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{9F97547E-4609-42C5-AE0C-81C61FFAEBC3}\InprocServer32\

A way to uninstall AVG using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

AVG is an application offered by the software company AVG Technologies. Sometimes, computer users decide to uninstall it. Sometimes this can be efortful because performing this manually takes some knowledge related to PCs. The best QUICK approach to uninstall AVG is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your Windows PC, add it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful uninstaller and all around utility to take care of your Windows computer.

• download the program by pressing the green DOWNLOAD button
• install Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to admire the program's interface and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful system optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools category


4. Activate the Uninstall Programs feature


5. A list of the programs existing on the PC will be shown to you

6. Navigate the list of programs until you find AVG or simply activate the Search feature and type in "AVG". If it exists on your system the AVG application will be found automatically. After you select AVG in the list of applications, the following information regarding the program is made available to you:

• Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have regarding AVG, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Details regarding the program you wish to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will come up. Confirm the uninstall by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove AVG.


8. After removing AVG, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run a cleanup. Click Next to perform the cleanup. All the items that belong AVG which have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By uninstalling AVG using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your system.
