A guide to uninstall BOINC from your PC

Note that if you will type this command in Start / Run Note you may get a notification for administrator rights. boinc.exe is the programs's main file and it takes around 4.69 MB (4914016 bytes) on disk.

How to delete BOINC from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

BOINC is a program by Space Sciences Laboratory, U.C. Berkeley. Sometimes, users decide to remove it. This can be efortful because uninstalling this manually requires some know-how related to removing Windows programs manually. One of the best QUICK approach to remove BOINC is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your Windows system, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and general utility to maximize the performance of your Windows system.

• download the setup by pressing the green DOWNLOAD button
• install Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to admire Advanced Uninstaller PRO's design and wealth of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful PC management program.

3. Click on the General Tools category


4. Press the Uninstall Programs button


5. A list of the applications installed on your computer will appear

6. Scroll the list of applications until you find BOINC or simply click the Search feature and type in "BOINC". If it is installed on your PC the BOINC application will be found automatically. When you select BOINC in the list of programs, the following data regarding the program is made available to you:

• Star rating (in the left lower corner). This explains the opinion other users have regarding BOINC, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Details regarding the program you wish to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

For example you can see that for BOINC:

• The web site of the application is: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/
• The uninstall string is: MsiExec.exe /X{83099184-E4B9-405B-9637-1F6C63395CDA}

7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will appear. Confirm the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will uninstall BOINC.


8. After removing BOINC, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items of BOINC which have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling BOINC with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry items, files or directories are left behind on your system.
