How to uninstall BOINC from your PC

BOINC is a Windows program. Read below about how to remove it from your computer. The Windows release was developed by Space Sciences Laboratory, U.C. Berkeley. More details about the app BOINC can be seen at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/. Usually the BOINC program is installed in the C:\Program Files\BOINC folder, depending on the user's option during setup. You can remove BOINC by clicking on the Start menu of Windows and pasting the command line MsiExec.exe /X{CCEF3A37-C25A-43EC-A2E4-BDE40A792E22}. Note that you might get a notification for admin rights. boinc.exe is the programs's main file and it takes around 5.64 MB (5917024 bytes) on disk.

BOINC installs the following the executables on your PC, taking about 20.27 MB (21252672 bytes) on disk.

A way to erase BOINC from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

BOINC is an application by the software company Space Sciences Laboratory, U.C. Berkeley. Sometimes, users want to remove this program. Sometimes this can be troublesome because uninstalling this manually requires some advanced knowledge related to PCs. The best SIMPLE practice to remove BOINC is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your system, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very efficient uninstaller and all around utility to clean your PC.

• go to Download Link
• download the program by pressing the DOWNLOAD button
• set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take some time to admire the program's design and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful system optimizer.

3. Press the General Tools category


4. Activate the Uninstall Programs button


5. All the programs installed on your computer will be made available to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you locate BOINC or simply click the Search feature and type in "BOINC". The BOINC application will be found very quickly. Notice that after you select BOINC in the list of programs, the following information about the program is made available to you:

• Safety rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating explains the opinion other users have about BOINC, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
• Technical information about the application you are about to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

For example you can see that for BOINC:

• The software company is: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/
• The uninstall string is: MsiExec.exe /X{CCEF3A37-C25A-43EC-A2E4-BDE40A792E22}

7. Press the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will appear. Confirm the removal by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove BOINC.


8. After uninstalling BOINC, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong BOINC that have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing BOINC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry items, files or directories are left behind on your PC.

Your Windows computer will remain clean, speedy and able to take on new tasks.
