A guide to uninstall MS Excel from your computer

The information on this page is only about version 1.0 of MS Excel. Quite a few files, folders and registry data will not be uninstalled when you remove MS Excel from your PC.

The files below were left behind on your disk by MS Excel's application uninstaller when you removed it:
  • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\vfs\Common AppData\Microsoft Help\MS.EXCEL.16.1033.hxn
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft\MS Excel.lnk

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be cleaned; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\application/vnd.ms-excel
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ms-excel

A way to delete MS Excel from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

6. Scroll the list of programs until you find MS Excel or simply activate the Search field and type in "MS Excel". The MS Excel program will be found very quickly. Notice that when you select MS Excel in the list of applications, the following data about the application is available to you:
