Following the uninstall process, the application leaves some files behind on the PC. Some of these are shown below.

You should delete the folders below after you uninstall McAfee Total Protection:

• C:\Program Files\McAfee

Check for and delete the following files from your disk when you uninstall McAfee Total Protection:

• C:\Program Files\McAfee\Gkp\content.bin
• C:\Program Files\McAfee\Gkp\firesvc.exe
• C:\Program Files\McAfee\Gkp\Gkp.dll
• C:\Program Files\McAfee\Gkp\HcApi.dll

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the keys below:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{0AC0A9B4-0A41-4820-B843-0DF2786A0C6C}
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\MSC

Additional values that you should remove:

How to remove McAfee Total Protection with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

McAfee Total Protection is an application by the software company McAfee, Inc.. Some people want to erase it. If it exists on your system the McAfee Total Protection app will be found automatically. After you click McAfee Total Protection in the list of applications, some data regarding the application is shown to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have regarding McAfee Total Protection, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Reviews by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
• Details regarding the program you wish to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will come up. accept the removal by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall McAfee Total Protection.


8. After removing McAfee Total Protection, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items that belong McAfee Total Protection which have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling McAfee Total Protection using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your computer.
