A way to uninstall OOBE from your computer

If you are manually uninstalling OOBE we advise you to verify if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Folders remaining:

• C:\Program Files\Sony\OOBE

Generally, the following files remain on disk:

• C:\Program Files\Sony\OOBE\64bit.txt
• C:\Program Files\Sony\OOBE\backstage-en-CA.rtf
• C:\Program Files\Sony\OOBE\backstage-en-US.rtf
• C:\Program Files\Sony\OOBE\backstage-fr-CA.rtf

Usually the following registry keys will not be cleaned:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.accda
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.accdb
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.accdc
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.accde

Open regedit.exe to remove the registry values below from the Windows Registry:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{1B500D37-E7CF-480B-8054-8A563594EC4E}\InstallLocation

A way to erase OOBE from your computer with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

OOBE is a program released by Sony Corporation. Sometimes, users try to uninstall it. This is efortful because removing this manually takes some skill related to Windows internal functioning. 3. Click on the General Tools button


4. Press the Uninstall Programs feature


5. A list of the applications existing on your computer will appear

6. Navigate the list of applications until you locate OOBE or simply activate the Search field and type in "OOBE". If it exists on your system the OOBE app will be found very quickly. Notice that when you click OOBE in the list , some information about the application is shown to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other people have about OOBE, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Technical information about the application you wish to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will appear. accept the removal by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove OOBE.


8. After removing OOBE, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run a cleanup. Click Next to perform the cleanup. All the items of OOBE that have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing OOBE with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your system.

Your system will remain clean, speedy and ready to run without errors or problems.
