A guide to uninstall Uplay from your PC

Uplay is a software application. If you are manually uninstalling Uplay we recommend you to verify if the following data is left behind on your PC.

You should delete the folders below after you uninstall Uplay:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Ubisoft\Uplay

Check for and delete the following files from your disk when you uninstall Uplay:

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the keys below:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\uplay
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ubisoft\Uplay
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Uplay

Additional registry values that are not removed:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\Uplay.exe.ApplicationCompany
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\Uplay.exe.FriendlyAppName


How to uninstall Uplay using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Uplay is an application offered by Ubisoft. Sometimes, people decide to uninstall it. This can be efortful because performing this manually takes some advanced knowledge regarding removing Windows applications by hand. The best QUICK way to uninstall Uplay is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your Windows system, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and all around tool to maximize the performance of your Windows computer.

  • navigate to Download Link
  • download the program by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with the program's interface and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good system optimizer.

3. Press the General Tools category

4. Press the Uninstall Programs tool

5. A list of the applications installed on your PC will be made available to you

6. Scroll the list of applications until you find Uplay or simply click the Search feature and type in "Uplay". If it is installed on your PC the Uplay program will be found automatically. When you click Uplay in the list of applications, the following data regarding the program is made available to you:


  • Star rating (in the left lower corner). This explains the opinion other people have regarding Uplay, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the application you want to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will appear. accept the uninstall by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall Uplay.

8. After uninstalling Uplay, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to perform the cleanup. All the items of Uplay which have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By removing Uplay using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry items, files or folders are left behind on your PC.

Your Windows system will remain clean, speedy and able to take on new tasks.
