Many files, folders and Windows registry entries can not be removed when you want to remove VMware Player from your PC.

Generally the following registry keys will not be uninstalled:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VMware Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\727E254E8B683324C83C14DF18A7AFFF
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\VMware_Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VMware, Inc.\Installer\VMware Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware Player

Use regedit.exe to delete the following additional registry values from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\727E254E8B683324C83C14DF18A7AFFF\ProductName


A way to delete VMware Player from your computer with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

3. Press the General Tools category

5. All the programs installed on the computer will appear

6. Navigate the list of programs until you locate VMware Player or simply click the Search feature and type in "VMware Player". The VMware Player program will be found automatically. After you click VMware Player in the list of apps, some information about the program is made available to you:


  • Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating explains the opinion other users have about VMware Player, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details about the application you want to remove, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will show up. Confirm the uninstall by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove VMware Player.

8. After uninstalling VMware Player, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to perform the cleanup. All the items that belong VMware Player which have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them.
