If you are manually uninstalling VMware Player we suggest you to verify if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Check for and remove the following files from your disk when you uninstall VMware Player:
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\VMware\player.log

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the keys below:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VMware Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\3088B3F2BB838BA46BDFDE209A66AEBD
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{2F3B8803-38BB-4AB8-B6FD-ED02A966EADB}
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\VMware, Inc.\VMware Player

Open regedit.exe in order to delete the following registry values:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\3088B3F2BB838BA46BDFDE209A66AEBD\ProductName
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders\C:\Windows\Installer\{2F3B8803-38BB-4AB8-B6FD-ED02A966EADB}\


How to erase VMware Player from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

VMware Player is an application marketed by the software company VMware, Inc.. Some computer users try to remove it. Sometimes this can be easier said than done because performing this manually takes some knowledge regarding Windows internal functioning.   • download the program by pressing the green DOWNLOAD button
  • install Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take some time to get familiar with the program's design and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good system utility.

3. Click on the General Tools category

5. All the programs installed on your computer will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of programs until you locate VMware Player or simply activate the Search field and type in "VMware Player". If it exists on your system the VMware Player application will be found very quickly. Notice that after you click VMware Player in the list of applications, the following data about the program is shown to you:


  • Safety rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other people have about VMware Player, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Details about the program you are about to remove, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will come up. Confirm the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove VMware Player.
