A guide to uninstall XAMPP from your PC

XAMPP is a software application. Keep in mind that this location can differ being determined by the user's decision. C:\Program Files (x86)\Xampp\uninstall.exe is the full command line if you want to remove XAMPP. The application's main executable file is called xampp-control.exe and it has a size of 3.21 MB (3368960 bytes).

If you are manually uninstalling XAMPP we recommend you to check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Usually the following registry keys will not be removed:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\xampp
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\xampp

Use regedit.exe to delete the following additional values from the Windows Registry:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\F:\xampp-windows-x64-8.1.2-0-VS16-installer.exe.ApplicationCompany
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\F:\xampp-windows-x64-8.1.2-0-VS16-installer.exe.FriendlyAppName

How to uninstall XAMPP using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

XAMPP is an application by Bitnami. Frequently, computer users decide to remove it. This is easier said than done because removing this manually takes some knowledge regarding removing Windows applications by hand. The best EASY manner to remove XAMPP is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your PC, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is the best uninstaller and all around tool to clean your computer.

• navigate to Download Link
• download the setup by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD button
• install Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's design and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good Windows optimizer.

3. Press the General Tools button


4. Press the Uninstall Programs feature


5. All the applications installed on the PC will appear

6. Navigate the list of applications until you locate XAMPP or simply click the Search feature and type in "XAMPP". If it exists on your system the XAMPP application will be found automatically. Notice that after you click XAMPP in the list of applications, the following data about the program is shown to you:

• Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating explains the opinion other people have about XAMPP, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
• Technical information about the application you are about to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for XAMPP:

• The web site of the program is: http://apachefriends.org
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Xampp\uninstall.exe

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will show up. accept the uninstall by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove XAMPP.


8. After removing XAMPP, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run a cleanup. Click Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items that belong XAMPP that have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them. By uninstalling XAMPP using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry items, files or folders are left behind on your system.

Your Windows PC will remain clean, speedy and able to run without errors or problems.
