How to uninstall Zotero from your computer

Zotero is a Windows application. Read below about how to uninstall it from your PC. The Windows release was created by Corporation for Digital Scholarship. More information on Corporation for Digital Scholarship can be found here. You can read more about about Zotero at https://www.zotero.org. Usually the Zotero program is installed in the C:\Program Files\Zotero directory, depending on the user's option during setup. Zotero's complete uninstall command line is C:\Program Files\Zotero\uninstall\helper.exe. The program's main executable file is titled zotero.exe and it has a size of 94.43 KB (96696 bytes).

A way to erase Zotero from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Zotero is a program by Corporation for Digital Scholarship. Some people want to remove it. Sometimes this is efortful because deleting this by hand takes some knowledge related to Windows program uninstallation. The best SIMPLE manner to remove Zotero is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your Windows system, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is one of the best uninstaller and all around tool to optimize your Windows PC.

• navigate to Download Link
• download the setup by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD button
• set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good system optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools category


4. Press the Uninstall Programs button


5. A list of the applications installed on your PC will appear

6. Scroll the list of applications until you locate Zotero or simply click the Search feature and type in "Zotero". The Zotero application will be found automatically. After you click Zotero in the list of apps, the following information about the program is made available to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have about Zotero, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Reviews by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Technical information about the app you wish to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for Zotero:

• The software company is: https://www.zotero.org
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files\Zotero\uninstall\helper.exe

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will show up. Confirm the uninstall by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall Zotero.


8. After uninstalling Zotero, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Click Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items of Zotero which have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing Zotero with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry items, files or folders are left behind on your computer.
