A guide to uninstall Zotero from your system

Zotero is a software application. This page contains details on how to uninstall it from your computer. It is developed by Corporation for Digital Scholarship. You can read more on Corporation for Digital Scholarship or check for application updates here. Please open https://www.zotero.org if you want to read more on Zotero on Corporation for Digital Scholarship's web page. The program is often found in the C:\Program Files\Zotero folder (same installation drive as Windows). You can uninstall Zotero by clicking on the Start menu of Windows and pasting the command line C:\Program Files\Zotero\uninstall\helper.exe. Note that you might be prompted for admin rights. The program's main executable file is labeled zotero.exe and it has a size of 614.13 KB (628864 bytes).

Zotero installs the following the executables on your PC, taking about 1.75 MB (1838928 bytes) on disk.

How to uninstall Zotero from your PC with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Zotero is an application offered by Corporation for Digital Scholarship. Frequently, people try to remove it. Sometimes this can be hard because doing this manually takes some experience related to removing Windows applications by hand. One of the best EASY way to remove Zotero is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your PC, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very efficient uninstaller and all around utility to maximize the performance of your PC.

• download the setup by pressing the DOWNLOAD NOW button
• set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take some time to get familiar with the program's design and wealth of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good program.

3. Press the General Tools category


4. Press the Uninstall Programs button


5. All the applications installed on your PC will appear

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find Zotero or simply activate the Search field and type in "Zotero". If it is installed on your PC the Zotero app will be found automatically. After you select Zotero in the list of programs, the following data about the application is shown to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). This tells you the opinion other users have about Zotero, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
• Technical information about the application you are about to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for Zotero:

• The web site of the application is: https://www.zotero.org
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files\Zotero\uninstall\helper.exe

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will come up. Confirm the uninstall by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall Zotero.


8. After removing Zotero, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to start the cleanup. All the items of Zotero that have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By removing Zotero using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry items, files or folders are left behind on your system.

Your Windows computer will remain clean, speedy and ready to run without errors or problems.
